Counselling for Children, Teens & Adults in Cairns

Making the decision to seek help for yourself or a family member can be difficult; however, getting support for your mental health is the first step toward becoming healthier and happier. At Indigo Counselling, we provide counselling for children, teens, and adults in Cairns and Far North Queensland, and are committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children, adolescents, and their families. The practice is built on a foundation of empathy, respect, and safety, offering trauma-informed counselling including EMDR therapy and play therapy for children. We utilise a range of evidence-based therapies and mental health social work approaches to meet individual needs, including support for trauma, anxiety, and life challenges, while ensuring everyone in the family feels heard and empowered throughout treatment. Telehealth counselling is also available across Queensland for flexible, accessible support wherever you are.

Janine is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) with a special interest in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Play Therapy.  Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Janine has lived and worked in the Cairns and Tablelands area over 20 years.
